Integration and Application of Knowledge in Civil, Social, and Personal Contexts
|
Probably one of my favorite things to do in my Aikido class is an exercise called Rondori. Our task is to use previous knowledge about different attacks and defense techniques from class in a situation where we don't know how we will be attacked or when.
This fits in well with the integration and application of knowledge in both social and personal contexts. I put into practice what I already know about how to defend myself against attacks to my advantage in order to escape or at least hinder an attackers efforts. Hopefully this won't be a situation that I'll have to experience in the future, but it is unfortunately very common in society. That is why it's important, because if a time calls for me to defend myself or escape from an attack I can use the basic techniques that I've learned. |
